Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
