Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
