Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
