Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
