Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
