Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
