Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
