Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
