Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
