Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
