Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
