Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
