Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
