Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
