Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon darkens 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
