Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
