Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
