Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
