The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. 4 The virtuous shall drink from a cup tempered with camphor water. 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 they give food, for the love of Him, to the needy, the orphan, the captive: 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 from a spring named salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. 19 If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. 22
