The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him – We therefore made him hearing, knowing. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. 4 But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; 5 a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. 6 They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; 7 And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: 8 (saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks, 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. 11 and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 (Bright as) glass but (made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds). 16 And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
