Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
