Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
