Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
