Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known extent. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
