50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
