Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
