Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
