Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
