Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
