Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
