Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till a limit known? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
