Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
