Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
