Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 till a known term decreed? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
