Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
