Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known extent. 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
