The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
