The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 The night a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
