The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
