The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
