The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
