The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
