The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
