The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
