The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
