The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 It will be a place of return 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
