The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great tidings! 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
