The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
