The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a return for the insolent, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
