The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
